On April 8-9, 2017, twenty restaurants in Tuguegarao have hosted the bloggers and social media influencers in collaboration with the Department of Tourism which aimed to present the local and authentic dishes offered by participating restaurants in the city.
More so, the first-ever Cagayan Food Crawl with the theme “Flavors of the Philippines” was a food appreciation tour for bloggers and digital influencers in Northern Luzon.
A total of 60 bloggers and instagramerscocktailed from Asian, Filipino, Western and Italian dishes were served by known restaurants in Tuguegarao City. Each recipe has its own characteristic and a story to tell.
Setting the mood in the event, the bloggers started to visit participating restaurants. Pan de Cagayan presented tasty and cheesy pizza, pasta and pastries.
Manio’sPampanguenaon the other hand, took pride of their special palabok and kare-karewhile Cris’ Lechonperfectly captured Cagayan’s best lechon’s flavor.
Showcasing Filipino buffet, Kainang Pilipino, demonstrated actual cooking of their special pinaupongmanok.
Otherparticipating restaurants are Hap Chan, displaying the dimsums and ever-loved beef broccoli, Xangero’s where the biggest and delicious burger in Tuguegarao can be found, and Leonardo’s which offered palatable steaks at a very friendly price.
Craving forTuguegarao’s special pancit? Billy Jack’s Panciteria served the best tasting and unique pansitbalut.
Ice Craze surprised the bloggers with humongous slabs of pork baby back ribs cooked to perfection, it almost melts in your mouth. Sold at a very affordable price, customers can just take it home and feed the entire family.
Being a family-oriented, Cagayanos reflected their dishes through presenting worthwhile food for everybody. La Luna Grill is the perfect place for the family, having different stalls offering delicious dishes. Hilaria’s proudly presented their must-taste crispy tadyangnabaka while 8th Avenue Café is the perfect venue to experience native coffees.
Not to be left out, Hotel Carmelita also allowed bloggers to review their pancitbatilpatong and the Pizza Supreme, a thin crust pizza filled with all the goodies on top.
Charlie’s Kitchen Savory on the other hand showed their uniquely different crispy pata version and tasty fish rolls.
Lastly, Crown Restaurant significantly took pride of their Yang Chao rice and ended up with a comment that the “DOT should organize more activities showcasing unique and authentic dishes in the province”.
Remarkably, Cagayan is not only rich in tourism destinations it can also be noted that it could compete for the best foods internationally.
The event generated positive feedback by the Cagayan Food Crawl will assist the program of the DOT- to encourage accreditation of restaurants and food establishments.
