Members of the House of Representatives, took on a Road inspection Trip during their session break last June 1-6, 2017 in the North Luzon.
The goal of the North Luzon Inspection Trip (NLIT) was to assess the current condition of roads and other infrastructure in the North Luzon that will allow the lawmakers to determine the budget to be allotted to the regions in 2018, particularly for the Tourism Road Infrastructure Prioritization Program (TRIPP) for 2018 – 2022.
The Congress leaders were able to inspect the provincial roads, highways and other vital infrastructure facilities and installations particularly in the Cagayan Valley Region.
They discussed safety measures to be put in place in order to reduce vehicular accidents aboard the inspection bus. An adhoc meeting was also conducted at Banaue Hotel to discuss programs for the preservation of the Rice Terraces as well as other projects under the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA).
In Cagayan Valley Region (Region 2), the Congress leaders were welcomed by a reception party particularly in Abulug, Cagayan by Rep. Baby Aline Vargas-Alfonso; San Pablo, lsabela by Rep. Rodolfo T. Albano Ill; Solano, Nueva Vizcaya by Rep. Luisa Lloren Cuaresma.
Region 2 was also a pit stop for Ifugao Rice Terraces via Bagabag Town and Baguio City via Kayapa – Ambuklao road.
