Church Celebrates  Centennial Jubilee of the Archdiocese  of Tuguegarao City

The Archdiocese of Tuguegarao City will be celebrating its Centennial Jubilee on April 23-24, 2010. This was disclosed by the office of the Department of Tourism, Cagayan Valley Region through Regional Director Blessida Diwa.

Director Diwa said various activities like the arrival of Our Lady of Piat at the St. Peter Cathedral, Marian Masses, processions and the Formal Opening of the Jubilee Door will be conducted to commemorate this very important event in the history of Christianization in the Cagayan Valley Region. read more>>

Santiago City Celebrates  Pattaradday 2010

Santiago City celebrates Pattaradday Festival with pomp and pageantry  highlighted by the performances of Grand Aliwan Street Parade Festival contestants and winners starting April 26 – May 5, 2010.  This was disclosed by Santiago City Mayor Amelita S. Navarro.

Activities like trade fairs and cultural performances, float parade, inter-department and municipal street dancers c showdown, Santacruzan, Mutya ng Santiago Competition and Gawad Parangal are some of the lined-up activities of the City. read more>>

50 Philippine crocodiles reintroduced into Dicatian Lake, Divilacan, Isabela

On Friday 31 July 2009, 50 captive-bred Philippine crocodiles were released into the wild in Dicatian Lake, Barangay Dicatian, Municipality of Divilacan, Isabela Province, Luzon Island. The reintroduction event was led by Mayor Venturito Bulan of Divilacan, Barangay Captain Felino Libunao of Dicatian, Director Glenn Rebong of the Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Center, Josie De Leon of the Protected Areas and Wildlife Bureau, Merlijn van Weerd of the Mabuwaya Foundation and invited guests, local government officials and community members. read more>>

DOT Wins Best Decorated Booth – Domestic Pavilion

DOT Cagayan Valley Region won first place in the Best Decorated Booth  Category – Domestic Pavilion in the recently concluded 16th Travel Tour Expo.  The 16th TTE was conducted last  February 6-8, 2009 at the SMX Convention Hall of  Mall of Asia in Pasay City.

Bohol Beach Club and Caraga Region took the second and third place, respectively, for the domestic pavilion while India Tourism (1st place), Singapore Tourism Board (2nd place) and Quarter Airways (3rd place))  won for the best decorated booth for international pavilion.
